PREREQUISITES FOR BLOCK 3 – EQUINE PERFORMANCE DATA EXPERT
→ Block 1 and block 2 prerequisites
→ Level BTS PA or BSC Equine / Animal Science or BAC +3 and 2 years experience in the equine industry or BAC +5
→ Ability to install an Equimetre and explain how it works
→ Validation of levels 1 and 2: test
→ Proficiency in Pack Office
→ Application based on portfolio
OBJECTIVES OF BLOCK 3 – EQUINE PERFORMANCE DATA EXPERT
→ Know how to assess the level of sports preparation of a horse athlete, synthesize the analysis of advanced parameters with industry professionals
→ Know how to optimize equine sports performance through training, feeding and daily management, apply a reasoned training program adapted to the needs of each horse
→ Limit / control the onset of musculoskeletal disorders and other pathologies through recommendations based on the analysis of advanced parameters
BLOCK 3 CONTENTS
→ Anatomical basics (connective tissues and muscles, cardiovascular and respiratory systems, energy metabolism…)
→ Analysis of the effects of training on the various tissues (muscles and connective tissues, skeleton, respiratory and cardiovascular systems)
→ Equine biomechanics (basics, 3 gaits, lameness, impact of the saddle…)
→ Equine psychology and learning principles (equine behavior, horse-human interaction, challenges to equine well-being)
→ Training principles (performance factors, stress tests, longitudinal monitoring, genetics, doping, etc…)
→ Common pathologies of the racing and sports horse (myositis, tendonitis, colic, ulcers, HPIE, bone and heart pathologies…)
→ Equine nutrition for performance (anatomy of the digestive system and equine nutrition, use of energy products and proteins, roles of macro- and micro-element principles, estimating nutritional requirements: NRC VS INRA…)
→ Advances in equine technologies for sports performance (data collection and visualization, statistics and models, ethics and data storage
